Kululu Matchmaking

find your jewish soulmate

Welcome to Kululu matchmaking, a unique dating project launched by our Sephardic synagogue, Anshey Sfard congregation, for the Bay Area Jewish community.

Inspired by the joyful ululations of Sephardi grandmothers at celebrations, our goal is to create authentic connections for individuals seeking serious relationships for marriage, ultimately leading to the joyous occasion of a wedding, where we can all hear the “Kululu!” from the grandmothers of our community.

Kululu Matchmaking primarily targets Jewish singles in the Bay Area, but it is also open to those outside the Bay Area who wish to attend. Our goal is to foster genuine, face-to-face connections through carefully curated activities and events.

We ensure that all participants share clear intentions: dating for marriage. This approach eliminates the time-wasting aspect of dating for the sake of dating.

Our concept is designed to be efficient and purposeful, ensuring that participants do not waste their time. Each activity and event will be organized with careful consideration, facilitated by a combination of AI and human oversight to ensure compatibility and meaningful interactions.

The Kululu Matchmaking welcomes Jewish individuals of all levels of observance, including those who are not observant at all.

Our dating events follow the Sephardic tradition, aligned with Orthodox Jewish values, bringing men and women together in a respectful and meaningful way.

The Kululu Matchmaking is open to all age groups. We plan to have different age groups for our events to ensure that participants can connect with others in similar stages of life.

We already have a well-thought-out concept and are currently gathering responses to gauge interest before starting the matching process.

If you are interested in joining the Kululu Matchmaking, please fill out the form provided by clicking on the button below.

We look forward to your participation and helping you find a meaningful connection.

Meet Daniel : The Kululu Engineer

Daniel is passionate about Jewish life and deeply values community. Having recently visited our congregation, he is excited to help bring people together and create meaningful connections. He’d be more than happy to play his part in helping people find their Bashert (Bashert is in Yiddish. The closest term in Sephardic culture to Bashert is Maktub)—one optimized match at a time.

In His Own Words

"Hi, I'm Daniel. I'm a Machine Learning Engineer working at a large tech company in NYC. Before that, I spent a few months living in the Bay area. I'm experienced working with recommender systems and am passionate about my work in the AI field. I believe all people deserve to find a loving partner and that I'm in a position to help others with that. I'm excited to be building the matchmaking algorithm that will allow Avigdor and the Congregation Anshey Sfard to put on a great event, and to help the young professional Jewish Community in San Fransisco make the right connections"

(But Daniel’s engineering ambitions don’t stop there! As part of his very serious research, he’s also working on optimizing The Kululu Sound itself—from our beloved community grandmothers—taking it from Lamino to Lamejor, ensuring the perfect decibel level. Just loud enough to spark excitement, but not loud enough to rupture your eardrums. Because matchmaking is important—but so is protecting your hearing!)
